Regarded as a significant thinker in the field of management. He was born in Ireland and graduated from Oxford in 1955 with a first class honours degree in classics, history and philosophy. He then worked for Royal Dutch Shell until 1966 when he left to go to the Sloan School of Management at MIT. After obtaining an MBA he returned to England and played a role in the foundation of the London Business School. Since that time he has written a number of books. |
