Professor, received a B.S. with honors from Yale University, and his Ph.D. from the New York State School of Industrial and Labor Relations at Cornell. He is a fellow of the American Psychological Association, the American Psychological Society, and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology. He has served on numerous editorial boards, including The Academy of Management Review, The Academy of Management Executive, Human Resource Development Quarterly, and Executive Development Journal.
He works with the Office of Development to design and deliver executive programs, and teaches in the International Business Education and Research (IBEAR) program. Prior to joining USC, he was Director of Research and Senior Behavioral Scientist at the Center for Creative Leadership in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Executive selection, development, and derailment are the primary focii of Morgan's research and writing. With George Hollenbeck he wrote Developing Global Executives: The Lessons of International Experience, he is the author of High Flyers: Developing the Next Generation of Leaders, and co-author of The Lessons of Experience, Whatever It Takes: The Realities of Managerial Decision Making, Leadership: Where Else Can We Go?, and Key Events in Executives' Lives. He recently co-edited with Bill Mobley Advances in Global Leadership, Volume II. His articles have appeared in a number of books and journals. He led the team that created Looking Glass, Inc., a simulation of managerial work widely used in corporate management development. |
