As Director of Business Development and International Marketing for Microsoft Corporation, Hemingway was an integral part of the company that virtually defined the Digital Revolution. He has partnered with visionary Microsoft CEO Bill Gates to co-author of the #1 best-selling book, Business @ the Speed of Thought. Described by Business Week as "a clear, richly detailed guide to the fast-emerging E-business Age," the book outlines how corporations can build a digital nervous system to take full advantage of the latest technological applications and drastically increase productivity.
Bringing this insight to life in a presentation offered exclusively through GTN, Hemingway takes audiences on an eye-opening tour of Microsoft, Dell and other corporate giants to reveal how digital nervous systems are revolutionizing the nature of business. He draws on the book and his own experience implementing computer technology in the workplace to present a clear, practical guide for success in the new millennium.
Involved in every major Microsoft product introduction from 1987 to 1995, Hemingway also proves an invaluable resource for strategies on global marketing and branding. In addition, he is able to specifically tailor presentations for the challenges facing individual industries and corporations, exploring a variety of areas from e-commerce and business-to-business communication to value networks and intranet technology.
Collins Hemingway has been involved in the high-tech community for 19 years and has been involved with computers in the workplace for his entire professional career. Hemingway currently lectures and writes on technology and management through his company, Escape Velocity Ventures, Inc.
At Microsoft Corporation, Hemingway was director of executive communications for two years. Before that, he was director of business development and international marketing for Personal and Business Systems, the company's fastest-growing division. He was responsible for co-marketing programs with computer manufacturers and major software developers and traveled around the world to launch Microsoft's high-end business system products in the BackOffice family. Between 1987 and 1994, he was involved in the introduction of every Microsoft systems product.
He also worked for six years at a small software company startup. He held a variety of positions from head of technical writing to marketing manager, manager of U.S. and international sales, corporate secretary and head of the company's pension program.
He joined the high-tech industry after a thirteen-year career in journalism, in which he became responsible for the newsroom adoption of computer technology and helped implement the first all-electronic newspaper operation in the world.
He has a bachelor's degree from the University of Arkansas (Phi Beta Kappa) and a master's degree from the University of Oregon. |
