Marketing to Women
|
|
Top selling author, award winning marketer, skilled researcher and expert on women consumers.
After completing a bachelor's degree in English literature at the University of Oregon, Johnson made her mark in the sporting goods industry – tackling everything from product design and development to sales restructuring and award-winning marketing campaigns. An early pioneer in marketing to women, Johnson developed innovative listening methods and research techniques for understanding the needs of women consumers and helped companies translated these insights into profitable strategies.
In 2000, she co-founded ReachWomen LLC – an innovative research and marketing consultancy that helps companies involve women earlier, and more fully, in their marketing process. Johnson is the co-author of the critically acclaimed book Don’t Think Pink: What Really Makes Women Buy and How to Increase Your Share of This Crucial Market. Featured in New York Times Magazine, American Demographics and on NPR’s Marketplace, Don’t Think Pink was chosen by SoundViews as one of the top 30 business books of 2004. A sought-after speaker and authority on marketing to the women of Generation X and Y, Johnson is credited for building product ideas and categories, inspiring relevant communications and articulating brand promises for top brands across the nation.
Through consulting and training services she manages from her home base of Eugene, Oregon, Johnson has worked with companies as diverse as Kohler, Intel, Mercedes, Brown Foreman, Starbucks, Dream Dinners, Office Depot, Panasonic, Wildly Sophisticated and Barnes and Noble. She has been quoted in a variety of publications including New York Times Magazine, American Demographics, AdWeek, Men's Health, American Executive, and Redbook. |
