Brands & Brand Management

John Winsor started Radar Communications in 1998 with the goal of helping companies listen to and learn from the key voices in their communities - the "right customers" behind their brands, products, and services. Winsor maintains that by using more organic, bottom-up anthro-journalistic tools, companies can begin to co-create with their customers to produce new marketing and product development strategies. The methodologies Radar applies have created new opportunities for some of these forward-thinking companies - from Hewlett Packard to Nike - to develop more aggressively innovative growth.
Using a unique research methodology that combines ethnography, journalism and publishing practices, Radar's market intelligence products bring clients exceptionally close to current and potential customers. Clients in a wide range of industries rely on Radar's processes to inform many of their most important strategic decisions. Radar's methodologies encourage an intimate and ongoing dialogue between clients and their most important current and potential customers. Radar's products deliver a perspective that clients value for its depth, honesty, insight, and timeliness.
These strategies and successes in the business world led to the birth of his book, Beyond the Brand: Why Listening to the Right Customers is Essential to Winning in Business. Prior to launching Radar and writing this book, Winsor founded Sports & Fitness Publishing, which he ran for 12 years before selling to Conde Nast and Emap in 1998. Winsor holds an MBA from the University of Denver. He lives and works in Boulder, Colorado |
